March 2020 - Spanish Fork Happenings

Here are some construction updates with pictures below… The Center Street Widening project is expected to start in late May and be finished before school starts in the Fall.  The pumps at Fast Gas will be moved to accommodate this.  In addition, there will be a pedestrian tunnel under HWY 6 to prevent people from crossing the busy intersection.

7-11 is building a gas station and convenience store on Canyon Rd (300 S) and Main Street with no completion date announced.

The All Abilities Park is located on Canyon Rd near 1100 E.  It will feature over 11 acres and with ziplines, waterfalls, and many other amenities.  The completion date is scheduled for July 2020.

Key Land Title is constructing a new building on 800 N by Carl’s Jr and should be completed in late Spring.

The old Vasa building has been removed and is waiting on developers to start the new buildings.  There have been so many rumors going around regarding what is being built.  Spanish Fork city is waiting on the developer to decide when they formally announce everything. (Insert rumors in comments)

The old barber shop on Main Street, next to Zion’s, was just torn down and will be replaced with a two-story building for an architecture firm.

The city released some information regarding the Spanish Fork pool.  The new high school will start construction in Spring 2021 and the pool will be permanently closed by September of 2021.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is Saturday, April 11th from 9am-3pm at the Provo Towne Center mall.  They collect gas, paint, light bulbs, batteries, and unused medications in addition to many more items.

The Spanish Oaks Reservoir just opened for the season with dawn to dusk hours.
