Real estate is quickly becoming a buyer’s market after YEARS of being a seller’s market. With a flood of inventory compared to previous years, sellers are having to incentivize buyers by offering them money for closing costs and rate buy downs. But, don’t mistake this change with buyers not wanting to buy. They simply are choosing not to buy at this time with rates more than doubling from the Covid years rates. Unfortunately, we would need a negative large-scale event to get rates to come down to Covid times and I would hope that nobody wants that. You can, however, get the seller to contribute money to buy down your interest rate to make your monthly payment more affordable. Pair that with homeowners that have been in their homes for more than 10 years (averaging $350k in equity) and suddenly buying your next home doesn’t seem so daunting. You can always reach out to me for a free market analysis of your home or any real estate advice!
