March 2024 - Spanish Fork Happenings

The Holi Festival of Colors located at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Salem is happening on March 30 & 31st. In India, Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. Every nook and corner presents a colorful sight. Young and old alike are covered with colors (red, green, yellow, blue, pink, orange, violet, and more).  Check out their website for all the details: Holi – (festivalofcolorsusa.com)

Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce presents the FREE Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th at 295 N Volunteer Dr (Sports Park).  The event opens at 8:30am and the egg hunt starts at 9am SHARP.  There will be booths and a treat for each child along with other bigger prizes after the egg hunt is over.  If you would like to help sponsor the event and get your business involved, please contact the Chamber of Commerce directly.

Spring Clean up for Spanish Fork residents will look a little different this year.  Due to residents of other cities using the dumpsters as well as people overfilling them, the program will use vouchers instead.  You will take your covered load to the brand new Dry Creek Transfer Station located at 518 W 3450 N in Spanish Fork (not the old one in Springville).  The dates for Spring Clean up are April 29th-May 11th and closed on Sunday’s.  Details are here: Spring Cleanup (spanish fork.org)

Patey Aviation, in collaboration with Spanish Fork City, had a groundbreaking event for the new Patey Aviation Business Park on February 28th.  The park will feature 66 new hangars as well as industrial areas and even a restaurant to watch planes come and go.  Patey Aviation Park is located in the Spanish Fork Airport area and will not cost taxpayers as this is a privately funded venture.

Spanish Fork High School will have a grand opening of their new building on May 20th.  There will be tours and a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Stay tuned for more information!

The Adventure Heights All-Abilities Park is open for the season!  The park features a large grassy area, multiple play areas, a waterfall and water feature and lots of handicap accessible equipment.  The hours are from 9am to sundown from March 1-November 30th and located at 1321 E Canyon Road.  Be aware, they will close the park due to heavy snowfall.

In Salem, Stokes grocery store is making room to add a Dairy Queen to their building.  No word on a completion date yet.

The real estate market has started to warm up despite the roller coaster of interest rates.  Savvy buyers are purchasing homes now rather than when rates bottom out (likely 3rd or 4th quarter of 2024).  They are hoping to refinance their mortgage later and avoid bidding wars and paying over asking price.  We are already seeing multiple offer situations and even some escalated prices on homes.  If you’d rather not fight with 10 other buyers on a home, let’s talk now!  You decide what works best for you, but it’s better to start preparing now rather than later.  Call me!
